Mental health practitioners in England are regularly helping their patients tackle money problems, according to new research that underscores the links between psychological and financial wellbeing.
According to the Citizens Advice Bureau, eight out of 10 people who conduct talking therapy for the NHS treating anxiety and depression are also dealing with patients non-health issues with debt and money issues being the most common.
Mental health staff reported these problems had a negative impact on their patients ability to manage their mental health, complete a course of treatment and ultimately recover, the CAB said.
