RAMPURA (SANGRUR): Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh had to skip the fourth debt waiver function after his chopper developed some technical snag just minutes before he was to leave for the event on Thursday morning.
Elaborate arrangements had been made for the event in which the Chief Minister was to hand over debt waiver certificates amounting Rs 485.69 crore to 73,748 farmers from six districts of Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar and Sangrur. Thousands of farmers from these districts reached the venue but were disappointed when they got to know that the CM was not attending the event.
