The Longniddry Christian Aid Committee hosted Douglas Alexander, Lothian East MP, and Martin Whitfield, South Scotland MSP, at their ‘Breaking Bread’ event at Longniddry Parish Church.
The event is part of a nationwide initiative by Christian Aid, allowing MPs to meet local Christian Aid teams and constituents.
The main topic of discussion was the global debt crisis.
Mr Alexander said: “I was helping to deliver Christian Aid envelopes before I was delivering Labour Party leaflets, so it was a real pleasure to meet with Longniddry Parish Church’s Christian Aid group and join them for their coffee morning.
