David Sharaz’s life will drastically change in a matter of weeks if he officially goes bankrupt.
Former federal senator Linda Reynolds confirmed that Brittany Higgins‘ husband, Mr Sharaz, accepted service of a bankruptcy notice on Friday.
She has given Mr Sharaz a 21-day deadline to pay what’s owed to her before she proceeds to formally bankrupt him.
Reynolds is seeking to recover damages awarded in her favour after she sued her former Liberal staffer Ms Higgins and her now-husband for defamation over a series of social media posts that she successfully argued had damaged her reputation.
Last month, WA Supreme Court Justice Paul Tottle ordered Mr Sharaz to pay Ms Reynolds $92,000 in damages, plus legal costs expected to exceed…
