Star Entertainment’s outgoing chairwoman Anne Ward said the casino giant could be privatised if its financial problems don’t change, as the company confirmed it was searching for new lenders for the third time in two years.
The company, which runs entertainment and gaming precincts in Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, has been under immense financial pressure for the past year, with revenue from its casinos unable to offset construction and remediation costs and its debt repayment obligations.
