Amid allegations of reckless spending and extravagance at a time when cash-strapped Himachal Pradesh is struggling financially, the decision by Gokul Butail, Principal Advisor (Innovation, Digital Technologies and Governance) to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, to draw a token salary of just Rs 1 and bear the expenses of his official residence and vehicle has won widespread appreciation.
Butail on Thursday wrote to the General Administration Department (GAD) to continue giving him just a Rs 1 salary.
