A Liberal Democrat amendment to North East Lincolnshire Council’s budget saw the local authority commit to provide early support to those in council tax debt
Councillors have unanimously agreed to the local authority trialling an early referral system to support for people in council tax debt for 12 months. It formed part of North East Lincolnshire Council‘s budget for 2026/27 after Liberal Democrat councillors proposed it.
Overall, the twelve-month trial contains two elements. One is a data-led early intervention referral system.
