LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The City of Lexington announced a second wave of medical debt relief for more city residents.
In November 2025, Lexington partnered with Undue Medical Debt, a national nonprofit that works to purchase and relieve medical debt.
The second wave of relief will help nearly 3,200 Lexington residents. According to Undue Medical Debt, the relief totals more than $5.6 million.
Residents whose debt has been eliminated will be notified through the mail beginning this week.
The first wave of relief, last November, helped more than 6,400 Lexington residents. To date, the partnership with Lexington has relieved a total of more than $18 million in medical debt.
