A council has highlighted the debt advice and support provided to a Newmarket woman as it looks to tackle the stigma surrounding the issue.
West Suffolk Council’s Financial Inclusion Service supports people struggling with debt and those on low income anxious about falling behind on bills.
The service helped Newmarket resident Sharon to manage her debts and she was grappling with living costs including weekly shopping.
It put her in touch with Newmarket Community Pantry Shop and Reach Community Projects.
The council has flagged the work as part of Debt Awareness Week.
