Alderman Jason Bonilla and businessman Nick Carnes are raising funds to launch a temporary bus route aimed at restoring pool access for families following the 2025 closure of Hunt Pool on Maple Street.
The proposed pilot bus route, Route 42, would connect neighborhoods in Ward 5 to Livingston Pool, expanding transit options across the city’s East Side. City officials say $22,800 in federal funding will cover half the cost, a GoFundMe has been organized to raise the additional $22,800 needed to move the proposal forward.
