In 2024, rumors circulated that the 16-time Grammy winner struggled with a mounting gambling debt at Park MGM, where he held a solo residency for nearly ten years. In 2022, Mars and Anderson .Paak headlined their residency An Evening With Silk Sonic at the Las Vegas resort.
Park MGM would ultimately deny that Mars was $50 million in debt at the resort, calling the allegations “completely false.” The Romantic musician would also joke about the rumors on several occasions, his most recent being alongside .Paak at the inaugural night of The Romantic Tour at Allegiant Stadium on Friday night (April 10).
