Escondido Chamber of Commerce has put its HQ on Broadway for sale to help pay off crippling debts its previous CEO saddled it with as he was heading out the door three years ago.
The decision was made at an executive board meeting Monday, March 29. The vote was unanimous, 13-0.
The sale could lift the organization out of debt, provide working capital, let it possibly hire staff again and operate out from under a cloud. In any event, the Chamber plans to move forward, and will hold its annual Installation later this year to honor local businesses.
