Australian mattress manufacturer A.H. Beard has fallen into voluntary administration, putting the future of the 126-year-old family business into question.
Documents posted by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission show the company on Tuesday appointed Peter Anthony Lucas and Damien Lee Hou Lau of P A Lucas & Co to oversee its affairs.
Their appointment disrupts five generations of family ownership, during which time A. H. Beard built a reputation for premium mattresses and domestic manufacturing.
