In Rajasthan’s Barmer district, villagers and relatives came together to help a 72-year-old farmer repay his bank loan. The matter was settled during a Lok Adalat held on Saturday, where a loan of nearly ₹3.5 lakh was closed after payment of ₹1.2 lakh.
The elderly farmer, Rahim Khan (72), a resident of Deraser village, had taken a loan of ₹1.15 lakh under the Kisan Credit Card scheme in 2016. Due to poor financial condition, he could not repay the amount on time. Over the years, the outstanding amount increased to around ₹3.5 lakh with interest.
