NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – New Mexico leaders are offering even more money to physicians to try to keep them treating patients in the state. A state-wide loan repayment program for full-time and part-time doctors is expanding. Participants in the program can get up to $75,000 in student debt relief every year.

As long as they’re practicing in New Mexico, physicians can get that same relief for four years, for a total of $300,000. Before the expansion, those awards were capped at $25,000 per year in the state.
