LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A Lexington business owner is helping pay off nearly $40,000 of student lunch debt.
Adam Dahl, the owner of Dahlhus Fudge, has raised thousands of dollars as part of the “Feed the Kids” campaign, and is preparing to submit the initiative’s second and largest grant.
In a video posted to social media, Dahl said he was told giving the money at the end of the school year was “the best possible scenario,” as it helps determine which students need the most help.
Dahl said he wanted to focus on families with a “drastic need,” and that he recently met a nutrition worker who told him some students have an upward of $600 worth of debt.
