A fundraising effort led by the Ashland Masonic Lodge, Ashland Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and the Masonic Home of Missouri raised more than $13,000 to help support families by reducing student meal debt.
In total, $13,452.06 was raised to help reduce outstanding student meal account balances and provide assistance to Southern Boone families.
The funds were raised through community donations and a Fish Fry Fundraiser that was held in April.
Representatives from the three organizations presented the donation to Southern Boone School District leaders during the June Board of Education meeting.
