(InvestigateTV) — Federal student loan borrowers face a series of changes beginning July 1, and a debt relief attorney says now is the time to act — before those changes affect repayment plans or lead to delinquency.
The changes apply to federal student loans. Borrowers with private student loans are largely unaffected.
Leslie Tayne, a debt relief attorney, said the first step for any federal student loan borrower is to contact their loan servicer and ask about available plan options.
