ANKENY, Iowa — A community fundraiser is putting another $10,000 toward helping Ankeny students and families struggling with school meal costs, an issue WHO 13 News recently found is growing across Central Iowa.
The Ankeny Community School District received the donation from the Wiedenman Family Foundation’s annual “Fill the Fund” fundraiser. A check was presented during a recent Ankeny Board of Education meeting.
The money will support the district’s F.U.E.L., or Filling Up Every Learner, Account.
