SINGAPORE: For some students, taking out a loan is simply the price of getting a university degree and, hopefully, securing the career opportunities that come with it. In a meritocratic society where a degree is often seen as an important stepping stone, taking on debt can feel like the only realistic option.
However, for one Singaporean graduate, the reality of repaying that debt has left her struggling with what she calls “loan anxiety.”
After graduating from university, she took to Reddit to share her worries about having around S$30,000 in student debt.
