TAIPEI: Taiwanese comedian Ma Guo Bi has publicly expressed deep gratitude to his family for their steadfast support as he nears the end of a decade-long struggle to clear a staggering NT$50 million (about RM6.3 million) gambling debt.
The 51-year-old entertainer fell into financial ruin in 2013 due to a severe gambling addiction.
Rather than fleeing, he has spent the past 13 years working relentlessly to settle his obligations.
His dedicated efforts have paid off, leaving him with just over NT$5 million (around RM633,912) remaining to pay off.
