A 20-year-old former betting agency worker who staged a robbery with his best friend to recover thousands of dollars he lost gambling at the TAB his grandmother owned has avoided jail time.
Alexander James Abey and co-accused Harry Michael Corner, 19, pleaded guilty to fabricating a story about being tied up and robbed at the TAB in the Hobart suburb of Derwent Park in April this year.
