Working with Contest Every Race, a local fundraiser is underway with a goal of raising $1,000 to erase $100,000 of medical debt.
Contest Every Race is a movement with a goal to ensure that every public office across the country is contested. Under Dems Work, a program of Contest Every Race, local Democratic parties are “doing the work of showing up for the communities they serve,” according to its website.
Manistee County Democratic Party chair John Helge explained how the fundraiser works.
