A group of inmates at the Norton Correctional Facility in Kansas provided funds to help a northwest school district pay an outstanding student lunch debt.
The special presentation ceremony at the prison facility was covered by Lisa Pasilas for High Plains News.
Per KWCH, Norton Community Schools, USD 211, had yet to pay over $6,000 that it owed in student lunch debt at the conclusion of the 2025-2026 school year. The meals included breakfast and lunch served to students whose families experienced food insecurity and were unable to settle their children’s accounts. The students were served the meals every school day.
