AbaQulusi Local Municipality invites consumers with outstanding debt to participate in a payment incentive scheme approved by council.
The scheme came into effect on August 1, 2026, and offers qualifying consumers the opportunity to have 70% of their eligible outstanding debt written off after paying 30% of debt older than 60 days.
Consumers must enter into an official arrangement agreement and pay the required amount in full by the applicable deadline.
Payment deadlines
The payment deadlines are:
Below R30 000: October 31, 2026;
R30 000 to R100 000: January 31, 2027;
R100 000 to R1 million: April 30, 2027;
Above R1 million: July 31, 2027.
