PEOPLE are being warned to be on their guard against fake debt advisers operating in the district.
According to Bradford and Airedale Citizens Advice Bureau some householders have received calls out of the blue from people claiming to be CAB debt advisers. It is understood they call from mobile phones and ask people to transfer money out of their bank accounts.
Real Citizens Advice debt advisers never ask people to transfer money into our bank account and we dont make calls from mobiles said Nick Hodgkinson, the debt service manager at Bradford and Airedale Citizens Advice Bureau.
So if you are rung up by someone claiming to be from the CAB who asks you to transfer money out of your account, dont do it.
