A construction worker who was found dead after a fire in a prominent derelict seaside hotel had racked up so many drug and gambling debts that he walked into a police station and asked what he needed to do to be thrown in jail, an inquest heard.
The body of Adrian Raileanu was discovered by firefighters who attended a blaze in the former Narrowcliff Hotel, adjacent to the Bristol Hotel on Narrowcliff in Newquay, after 999 calls were made about a flames taking hold in the boarded-up building on July 22 last year.
