Debt-ridden gambler Said Teqja transported tens of thousands of pounds worth of cannabis to pay off the money he owed. The 29-year-old – an Albanian national – racked up £22,000 worth of debts with loan sharks which he was unable to pay.
Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court he and his family were threatened so he agreed to deliver drugs. But police stopped him driving an Audi A5 and recovered 16.93 kilograms of cannabis worth between £56,000 and £64,000 wholesale and £159,300 if sold in street deals. Now Teqja has been jailed for 15 weeks.
