FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — An executive order signed Tuesday by Gov. Andy Beshear will eliminate $250 million in medical debt for more than 130,000 Kentucky residents.
The governor’s office announced on Sept. 15 that the new executive order established the Team Kentucky Medical Debt Relief Program—a partnership with Undue Medical Debt (UMD), a national nonprofit that state leaders said had provided more than $49 billion in nationwide medical debt relief.
