Delaware Governor Matt Meyer has announced the first round of medical debt relief with nearly $19-million eliminated for over 18,000 Delawareans. This medical debt relief is supported by a $500,000 investment included in the FY 2026 budget to partner with Undue Medical Debt, which is a national non-profit organization. Undue Medical Debt acquires the most burdensome medical debts in bulk for a fraction of their face value, meaning one dollar can erase $100 of medical debt on average.
