Early childhood teachers working in very remote Australian communities may be eligible for financial relief under the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) Debt Reduction Program for Very Remote Teachers.
The initiative is designed to help attract, retain and sustain qualified teachers in communities where workforce shortages are most acute.
The program applies to eligible early childhood teachers working in centre-based day care or preschool settings and offers both indexation waivers and reductions to outstanding HELP debt.
Eligible early childhood teachers can apply for indexation waivers on their outstanding HELP debt, as well as reductions to their HELP debt based on completed service in very remote communities.
