How is the debt relief for Bloomington workers and residents funded?
In 2022, the Bloomington City Council voted to raise the local income tax. Some of that money has been given to the South Central Community Action Program’s (SCCAP) “Growing Opportunities” family enrichment program to help employed families who live and/or work inside Bloomington city limits tackle medical debt, past due property taxes and other financial burdens.
