ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The tax filing deadline is Tuesday, April 15, and while the IRS won’t be calling to remind you, scam robocalls certainly will.
A surge of fraudulent calls is targeting taxpayers, falsely claiming that a new federal program will eliminate their tax debt.
Scammers and debt relief companies use robocalls to trick people into paying for services they don’t need. Atlanta News First Investigates recently received this voicemail:
