HIROSHIMA (TR) – A 29-year-old man arrested for the robbery-murder of his friend in Mihara City had accumulated massive gambling losses totaling 80 million yen, police have revealed, reports TBS News (July l1).
Kanta Kuramoto, a resident of Hiroshima City’s Minami Ward, was sent to prosecutors on suspicion of robbery-murder on Wednesday morning.
According to police, Kuramoto is accused of murdering his friend, 29-year-old Masaki Tokuda, on company premises in Mihara City in March. The motive was allegedly a desperate bid to escape repaying a 7-million-yen loan he had taken from the victim.
