Brazilians deposited R$ 220,6 billion in authorized betting platforms (so-called bets) in 2025, according to data from the Ministry of Finance — equivalent to about 1,7% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and approximately three times the value of retail sales during the Christmas season. Of this total, R$ 36,9 billion corresponds to the companies’ gross revenue (losses by bettors), while R$ 183,7 billion returned to users in prizes and bonuses.
