(InvestigateTV) — Consumers receiving calls and texts from debt collectors face increasing difficulty determining whether the contact is legitimate or a scam.
Leslie Tayne, a debt relief attorney, said the rise of robocalls and artificial intelligence calls makes it confusing for people to know if they actually owe money. She advised consumers to avoid giving out personal information and instead ask questions to verify the caller’s legitimacy.
