PHOENIX, Ariz. (KVOA) – Gov. Katie Hobbs announced the elimination of $429 million in medical debt for over 352,000 Arizonans on July 16, 2025. This initiative, in partnership with the nonprofit Undue Medical Debt, aims to improve economic stability and health outcomes for working-class residents.
“Economic stability is core to the Arizona Promise,” said Hobbs. “We’ve taken bold action to free Arizonans across the state from crushing medical debt.”
