Kuwait has issued Decree No. 16 of 2026 to formally honor martyrs who lost their lives during military operations, official duty, natural disasters, and exceptional public incidents.
Published today in the Official Gazette, the decree outlines a comprehensive framework to provide material, moral, and social recognition to martyrs and their families.
The decree stipulates the cancellation of debts owed to the state by Kuwaiti martyrs and provides lumpsum financial compensation, social care, and Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages for their families, reports Al-Jarida daily.
