Lula Distinguishes Credit from Gambling-Related Debt
During the presentation of data from the Annual Social Information Report (RAIS), Lula said that indebtedness should not necessarily be considered negative when it is related to the acquisition of goods, increased assets, or improvements in families’ quality of life.
The president, however, made a distinction regarding debts incurred through gambling and betting.
“I am not against people being in debt. I am against people being in debt because of a debt that has no objective of growth, improving their quality of life, or increasing their assets,” Lula said.
