The Maharashtra Cabinet has approved the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmer Debt Relief Scheme, providing loan waivers of up to Rs 2 lakh to farmers in the state. The decision was made in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The scheme does not impose any landholding criteria for eligibility, and loans up to Rs 2 lakh will qualify for the waiver. Cabinet members applauded the move, calling it a historic step that will offer significant relief to farmers across Maharashtra.
