Trichy: A temporary worker employed at the Thanjavur district collectorate was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of a 55-year-old woman in Tiruvarur district a few days back. The man, who was a family friend, killed the woman while trying to rob her of her jewellery after suffering gambling losses.The victim, G Kalaiselvi, had been living in living alone in Uthani village near Valangaiman following the death of her husband Palaniandi two years ago and the marriage of her daughters.
