FRANKFORT, Ky. —
Thousands of Kentuckians are finding out their medical debt has been cleared.

Gov. Andy Beshear signed an executive order back in August to create the Team Kentucky Medical Debt Relief program.
The state put $2.5 million toward the program and it’s expected to erase about $250 million in debt.
It’s projected to help about 130,000 Kentuckians.
This week, several people received their notices. Some told WLKY they had more than $1,000 cleared. In a post shared by Beshear, a woman posted a photo of her notice, which said she had more than $5,800 canceled.
