A mum who racked up a £26,000 heating bill said the situation became so bad that she began to wish she was dead.
Gaynor Lake, 57, found herself in denial when unsolved issues with her gas and heating meant over a decade her debts snowballed into “horrendous” amounts. During this period, she said she would look forward to going to work as it meant she would be in a warm bus, rather than a cold house.
