The energy regulator should ease bill payers’ debt by using some of the £4 billion made by network firms in windfall profits, MPs have said.
In a report released on Wednesday, the Energy Security and Net Zero (ESNZ) Committee called it “completely inexcusable” that households are forced to choose between eating and heating while companies behind Great Britain’s gas pipes and power lines amass huge profits.
