RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – No child should ever go hungry.
Rapid City Area Schools are getting some relief to help cut down on their student lunch debt – money students owe on their school lunch accounts.
On August 19, the Rapid City Council approved a challenge fund of $25 thousand to match contributions made to the Fed and Ready to Learn School Lunch Deficit Reduction Program.
The City Council’s fund is a challenge to people, local businesses and organizations to support and give donations to the program.
The Council’s donation will come from their contingency fund.
They’ve extended the challenge time period from August 5 through November 30.
