Retailer Curacao, with locations across Southern California, Wednesday was offering a program to pay off customer debt in cases of forced deportation.
The initiative, called “Estamos Contigo,” will cover 100% of a customer’s outstanding account balance if they are detained and deported during the program period, regardless of the amount owed, according to the company.
The program is available through June 30 and requires customers to submit documentation confirming deportation for review. Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis, officials said.
