Millions of households are facing a difficult year as the cost of essential services continues to put pressure on monthly budgets. The burden of rising energy and water bills is becoming harder to bear according to new data.
Research by StepChange indicates that around 24 million people are worried about their ability to pay their energy bills over the next six months. Furthermore, more than a quarter of adults in England and Wales are worried about their ability to pay their water bills; most Scottish households pay for water through their council tax bill.
