There’s some relief on the horizon for Knysna residents battling municipal debt.
The Garden Route municipality has introduced a new incentive that could see qualifying households having up to half of their arrears wiped away.
To benefit, residents need to settle 50 per cent of what they owe by the 30th of June, after which the remaining balance will be cleared in full.
The relief applies to residential accounts with debt dating back to June last year that remained unpaid at the start of this year.
