New program allows residents and businesses to settle ticket debt without late penalties or fees through June 30, 2025
Mayor Brandon Johnson and the City of Chicago today announced the launch of a new Vehicle and Commercial Ticket Debt Relief Programs, a bold step in the administration’s ongoing work to reform an outdated and punitive fines and fees system. Beginning April 1, 2025, Chicago motorists and businesses with eligible ticket debt issued on or before December 31, 2023, will have the opportunity to settle their balances without incurring any late penalties, interest or additional fees—provided payment is made in full by June 30, 2025.
