CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The treasurer of a local township was accused of taking more than $530,000 in funding to pay off credit cards she used for online gambling over her tenure.
Pamela Hackenburg, 55, of Millmont, was charged with theft, identity theft and receiving stolen property after an investigation was opened in May 2024 where she was subsequently fired from her position.
According to the criminal complaint, officials with Gregg Township were alerted of possible fraud when one of the three with access to a township credit card received a rare statement — something he told police he never really gets or sees — and saw numerous DraftKing charges.
